(infinity)
super 16mm experimetnal narrative short film, 2005

A looping destiny...
A necessary karma...
And a obsessive love threads from the previous life to next life.

This film is my thesis project 2005. Actually it was made when I took class in NUY summer 2003. This is the perspective for love which mirrored the confict when people deal with love issue. We've all gone through suffering in loving and being loved. However it's just like "the fate" and "the destiny", we fall into the endless love karma. We are trying hard to get the balance of giving love and receiving love. We failed, sometimes, unfortunately. But we never give up.

Family Day (a video for wedding use)

video,2min50sec,2006

A video that I made when I worked in a wedding planning company in Taiwan.
The clients are so unique. There are four children in the family and all the sisters got married already except the only son. The groom finally found Ms. Right is his forty's. His sisters wanted to give him a special gift - a deeply wish for their brother's late marriage and a truely welcome for the bride, the new family member.

missed

16mm short experimental film ,2003
Directed, edited, script and performed by HuiMei Chen
"missed" is a film about a girl's journey when she fell in love and gradually became apart from her lover. Her innermost feeling truly revealed in the film- from the beginning sweet fantasy to later the depressing and despairing mood. "missed" is also a film reflected to the interpersonal communication ways under the "high-tech" corresponding gadget. The poetic images ironically indicated the absence of physical intimacy.
This is the first film that I made when I came to Chicago and this is also based on my story. I missed my boy friend (now, it's Ex) a lot when I came all the way cross the sea coming to US to study. Therefore I wanted to catpure this specfic experience for me. This relationship didn't work out ultimately however in the progress of maing this film, I got to know myself more, I explored my artistic petential and I learned how to love myself. This would be my unfadable memory, ever. Thank you, my Ex, Mr.RH.
